A 1926 - 1939 Shelley cup with a design and rhyme by Mabel Lucie Attwell. This example bears the inscription "SEE-SAW SEE-SAW, AWAY TO BANBURY TOWN, I'VE GOT THE FAIRIES IN THE AIR, HOW CAN I GET THEM DOWN?".
Professionally (invisibly) restored hairline (not over design or text). Condition is otherwise excellent (see illus. above). This is a pre 1939 example bearing printed mark for "Shelley ENGLAND" and "COPYRIGHT DESIGN" (1920s / 1930s).
