A scarce Paragon tea plate from the Mother Goose Series circa 1918 designed by Chloe Preston, hand coloured in enamels with an illustration of a child shepherdess with shepherd's crook, dog and a black sheep to accompany the nursery rhyme also printed on the teaplate as follows Baa Baa black sheep, Have you any wool? Yes marry have I, Three bags full. One for my master, And one for my dame, But none for the little boy, Who cries in the lane.
Marked with the Paragon star mark, below which PARAGON CHINA ENGLAND Mother Goose Series.
Condition is very good with little or no wear to the face of the plate, just 1 professionally and invisibly restored hairline to the rim of the plate.
