1920s Paragon China Beatrice Mallet Series Teaplate (Sold)

A scarce Paragon China "Beatrice Mallet series" octagonal tea plate designed by Beatrice Mallet and dating to the 1920s. Hand-painted in enamels bearing the signature Beatrice Mallet at one side of the illustration of 2 small children wearing drivers bonnets and goggles in a 1920s sports car with the number plate WE 2. The rhyme on the rim above the illustration reads "It's fun to have a ride Tucked cosily inside"
With little wear to the paintwork, this tea plate is in very good condition, with no damage or restoration at all.
The tea plate is marked to the base with the Paragon Star mark and PARAGON FINE BONE CHINA MADE IN ENGLAND Beatrice Mallet Series
