Paragon China Future Telling Tea Plate by J. A. Robinson (Sold)

A Paragon China "Future Telling series" octagonal Tea plate designed by J. A. Robinson and dating to the late 1920s. Hand-painted in enamels bearing the signature J. A. Robinson below the central illustration of a seated young boy reading a book and a puppy dog seated at his feet, The rhyme on the teaplate reads "What will I be when I grow up" and surrounding this on the rim are the words "tinker tailor soldier sailor on the indentations in the rim (intended for placing fruit stones) - and these are repeated between illustrations of a tinker a tailor a soldier and a sailor.
This tea plate is in great condition. The tea plate is marked to the base with the Paragon Star mark and PARAGON FINE BONE CHINA MADE IN ENGLAND The Childs Future Telling Series REG & COPYRIGHT Rd No.733212.
