Scarce children's bowl,illustrated with two seated children blowing bubbles with a puppy asleep at their feet with the rhyme Two pipes and soap and water that the twins may go, to sit upon the garden seat, and blow blow blow
Transfer printed and hand-painted in enamels, designed by Beatrice Mallet and made by Paragon China in the 1920's.
Condition is fair but with a few worn letters in the rhyme and with five chips to the rim of the base. These last do not therefore affect display.The price is however very low to reflect these flaws
Marked to base with the Paragon Star mark and "PARAGON FINE BONE CHINA MADE IN ENGLAND Beatrice Mallet Series. Also another small printed mark in green for the Registered design number - Rd.No.(6)93723 (dating the design to the early 1920s).
