Paragon Future Telling Series Tea plate by J. A. Robinson (Sold)

A Paragon China "Future Telling series" octagonal Tea plate designed by J. A. Robinson and dating to the late 1920s. Hand-painted in enamels bearing the signature J. A. Robinson below the illustration of a young girl in 1920s dress holding a plate of berry fruits, The rhyme on the teaplate reads "Gooseberry Raspberry Strawberry Blackberry Tell me the name Of my young man" and around the rim are some letters of the alphabet (A to L separated by 4 small illustrations of berry fruits. The letters are painted on indentations in the rim intended for placing fruit stones.
With minimal wear to the paintwork, this tea plate is in very good condition, with no damage or restoration excepting an insignificant 'flea bite' chip to the back of the rim which as can be seen, does not show on the front surface. The tea plate is marked to the base with the Paragon Star mark and PARAGON FINE BONE CHINA MADE IN ENGLAND The Childs Future Telling Series REG & COPYRIGHT Rd No.733212.
