Silver Lady Teapot - (Sold)

Stock No. 446

Originally named Erotic Lady Teapot, this scarce teapot was designed by Roger Michell in the 1970s and produced in a small edition by his studio pottery - Lustre Pottery. The plain earthenware pot is glazed and surmounted by a naked lady, entirely decorated with a platinum lustre, her arms stretching backwards either side of the spout. Her legs form the handle of the teapot and the upper section of her torso surmounts the lid.
This attractive design harks back to the Art Deco period.
Condition is excellent. This example is unmarked to the base and as such is most likely a pre - edition prototype
