Early handpainted 19th C. Derby duo in the Japan pattern

An early 19th century Derby cup and saucer hand painted in Imari colours and gilt in the "Japan" pattern. The hand painted marks to the base of the cup and foot-ring of the saucer date this duo to between 1800 and 1825. (See mark no. 1253 Encyclopaedia of British Pottery and Porcelain Marks by Geofrey A. Godden ). However these exact pieces with the identical design are illustrated and documented in An Illustrated Encyclopaedia of British Pottery Porcelain by Geofrey A. Godden from his own collection and dated to 1810 - 1815 period. (see page 138 illus.no.223).
Condition is excellent.
