1930s Train Teapot - (Sold)
Stock No. 275
A genuine rare and classic 1930's Staffordshire
teapot formed in the shape of a locomotive
and decorated with green trim. (These original mid 1930s train teapots were only made with red or green trim.) The spout is formed as its headlight. Originally designed by a Staffordshire Pottery and bearing its Registered Design Number to the base - dating it to the mid 1930s. Reproductions have been seen in silver and gold trim and are slightly different in size. This is not a reproduction.
Condition is extremely good with no damage or restoration.There is one crack in the glaze on the base only, otherwise the pot is uncrazed.
