Here is another early numbered (6/250) limited edition example of the new Walking Ware Kneeling Cup in the Walking Ware Lustre Pottery series.
Originally created by Roger Michell for a continuing series of commemorative occasions, this new and much larger Kneeling Cup has similarly been designed and created by Roger Michell to commemorate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. It carries the delightful official Royal emblem, designed by 10 year-old Katherine Dewar, the winner of the CBBC Blue Peter competition to create such an emblem.
The official emblem on one side, the Royal initials on the reverse and the Walking Ware backstamp and limitation number underneath, the cup has a beautifully decorated striped socks with strong, solid crimson red shoes fully integrating with the official colours of the emblem.
The Kneeling Cup stands approximately 5.25 inches (13.5 cms) tall with a top diameter of 4 inches (10 cms) - much larger than the previous Carlton Ware Silver Jubilee kneeling cup of 1977. This series has been limited to just 250 pieces, each one hand numbered to the base of a shoe. postage is included.
