Stock No. 360

A baby's food warmer bowl designed by Mabel Lucie Attwell and produced by Shelley in either the later 1920s or early 1930s. A little boy is illustrated as the pilot of an early bi - plane carrying fairy folk "Boo-Boos" who are parachuting from the plane. The legend reads " I TOOK SOME FAIRIES IN MY PLANE, SOME WANTED TO GO DOWN AGAIN, THEY HAD A DIFFERENT KIND OF RIDE, WITH PARACHUTES ALL OPEN WIDE"
Many collectors agree that this is one of the very best of Mabel Lucie Attwell's designs to be found on ceramics from her pre-war Shelley range. Condition is good, colours are bright with only slight wear(around the hole for hot water - see illus. above).
